Forest Spirit Ointment

Forest Spirit OintmentFor seeing and communing with wild forest and plant spirits

A fairy ointment handcrafted with herbs traditionally used in British Isles folk magic to see and commune with spirits of the wild as well as herbs and fungi sacred to nature spirits. When the leaves of oak, ash, and thorn are all present at the same time, it is said one will be able to see the spirits which dwell in the wilds. Fern seed is said to do the same in folklore and is rubbed on the eyelids in order to see fairies. The seed is really the spores of the fern and ferns were considered to be either the dwelling of fairies or the entrance to their realm in the spirit world overlapping ours. The same is said of the toadstools and the herb of Robin Goodfellow also to be found in this oinment.

Apply this ointment on or near the eyelids, the third eye, behind the ears, and on the throat to experience the following: to be able to see and speak with the wild nature spirits who dwell in forests, glades, and marshes who are normally invisible to the mortal eye; to walk between worlds, to call and commune with a plant or tree ally. Use with caution as in traditional folktales the good folk have been known to pluck out the eyes of those who use fairy ointments to see them without their knowing. Make sure they know what you’re up to first and let them speak to you before you say a word to them!
